prep.

I intended on reading "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" but I went to my local library and the book was not available. I also decided that I wasn't as much interested in reading it as I thought. When I went home, I did further research on the book and I decided that it might not be the book for me. A lot of the friends have been telling me that the book "Prep" is a very good book. They told me the basics of the book and I like how it sounds. I have already gotten the book and I am going to begin reading today. =] I heard from a lot of my friends that the book is about a girl who is sent to boarding school. It is also mentioned that she will be dealing with many stereotypes throughout the book. For this reason, I began to make predictions. I think it is possible that the girl was sent AWAY to boarding school rather than just going to boarding school. I think that the girl might have had problems either at home or school. She might be.....a "free-spirit." I think that she might have discipline problems and maybe she will get over them while away in boarding school. I think this factor will make a big effect on the way that the book flows and how things turn out. I also think that since her parents probably sent her away to boarding school in the first place, that she might not have the best relationship with them. i think that this book will be exciting and have a lot of twists and turns because most books about teen girls seem to be very dramatic. =] I hope to enjoy it and maybe I will go back to "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings."

Yaya,
Have you ever read any of the books in the Clique series or the It Girl? I never read Prep, but it sounds like one of those types of books. Maybe you might like those too. I think you're right with your predictions, because it's true that a lot of teenage girl books are really dramatic. Make sure to post a response to your blog about your predictions. I wanna know what happens.

Hey Yasmin! I'm reading Prep too. I'm almost done. I thought it was pretty good, but kinda descriptive. It is kinda like the Clique and Gossip Girl, like Jodiann said. Where are you up to in it? It is kinda about stereotypes, like you thought. Racism, class (like economic), and sexism are brought up. Have fun reading! <3
