WHOAAA I'M CONFUSED.
OKAY OKAY.....I thought that Lee had a crush on Gates....Gates is a girl...but now, i'm finding that she has been "intimate" with a boy....THIS BOOK IS SO CONFUSING. I'm getting LOSTTTTTT. whoaa. okay. let me try to get this one straight. She likes a girl but she is intimate with boys. Also, the boy (Aubrey) likes her. He seems nice. Smart, (her math tutor) but he is awfully quiet. Okay...gotta read on....so interested now. I was so bored before. I actually read the book over so i can get it. lol I don't like the way that it's written...it's...I don't know. But it's mega confusing. =\ I feel like it's taking FOOORRREEEVVERRR. =[ I want to finish it already!! ughh. I always fall asleep on it. ooo well. Now, I have motivation to finish. =]

symbolism...
Identify a symbol in your book && explain what it means.
A symbol that I found in my book was the picture of Gates in the yearbook.
Lee likes to look at the picture in the yearbook. It seems to give her a sense of security and strength and even hope. She seems to look up to Gates a bit. She also seems to have a "crush" on Gates. She often looks at the picture and tries to deny her infatuation but I think that she uses this picture to talk to as if it was Gates to get ready for the real thing. Whenever she talks to Gates, she seems nervous and uneasy. I think that talking to this picture makes her feel better. It gives her strength and practice to actually talk to her. I believe that talking to this picture might make her confident but also, she won't be ready for the real world. Because the real world isn't quiet. Therefore, she might run into a problem.

Admiration.
Prep
I can't keep my eyes off of her...
I somehow find my glances her way no matter what.
I stare at her picture in the yearbook for hours at a time
Her pure beauty.
She is simply beautiful.
Divine in everyway....
I don't wanna sound desperate and strange....
So I'll admire from far away....
That's a poem i wrote as Lee admiring Gates. Lee seems to have a crush on Gates. She took the yearbook from the library just so that she could stare at Gates' picture whenever she wanted to. I think this will be a main part in the book.

Attraction....
It seems like there is a sudden attraction....infatuation. Lee knows that Gates is a girl but somehow is pulled in....I'm so confused! Is Lee attracted to girls?? What is going on?!?!?! Gates is a pretty girl at Lee's new private school and she seems to have a crush on her. Different things are happening in the school, but all Lee seems to be able to think about is...Gates.

prep.
I intended on reading "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" but I went to my local library and the book was not available. I also decided that I wasn't as much interested in reading it as I thought. When I went home, I did further research on the book and I decided that it might not be the book for me. A lot of the friends have been telling me that the book "Prep" is a very good book. They told me the basics of the book and I like how it sounds. I have already gotten the book and I am going to begin reading today. =] I heard from a lot of my friends that the book is about a girl who is sent to boarding school. It is also mentioned that she will be dealing with many stereotypes throughout the book. For this reason, I began to make predictions. I think it is possible that the girl was sent AWAY to boarding school rather than just going to boarding school. I think that the girl might have had problems either at home or school. She might be.....a "free-spirit." I think that she might have discipline problems and maybe she will get over them while away in boarding school. I think this factor will make a big effect on the way that the book flows and how things turn out. I also think that since her parents probably sent her away to boarding school in the first place, that she might not have the best relationship with them. i think that this book will be exciting and have a lot of twists and turns because most books about teen girls seem to be very dramatic. =] I hope to enjoy it and maybe I will go back to "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings."
